quicko: gammon

Adjective/interjection. Socially acceptable, if extremely informal. Negative. Same meaning as "bull$#!*," but not as coarse. Primarily used in Darwin; not used south of Cairns. Pronunciation unknown, but lessons available from accredited stunt linguists in Darwin.

Heh. I remember gammon from when I lived in Darwin as a kid. Sounds weird hearing it now.

Common pronunciation would be something like [gæ̃: mən], although I'm having trouble representing the intense nasalisation symbol in a blogger comment box. Obviously there are regional variations.
