quicko: moving day

Australians move a lot -- but in the same city.  In fact, I've just been beginning to think that Americans and Australians move similar amounts, it's just that Americans are moving from coast to coast and Australians are moving from suburb to suburb.  You find someone who's lived in Sydney most of their life and they tend to have lived in the same area (i.e., the North Shore, the Inner West, the Shire, etc.) and just moved slightly a couple of times, or who have moved around the various areas of Sydney.  Americans usually stay put once they get to a new city, though.  Of course there are many Australians who have lived overseas or in a different city, or who moved to the city from the country, but overall, I think Americans have more big moves, while Australians have more little moves.

We do have companies that specialise in short moves (e.g. MiniMovers) - any such thing in the USA?

That would be called U-Haul, although I guess Two Men and a Truck might qualify for local moves, too.
