pictures: pavlova!

Today we taught Susan about the Australian (or is it Kiwi?) dessert pavlova.  It's amazing -- meringues with whipped cream, passion fruit, kiwi, strawberries and, in our case, honey and burnt fig ice cream.

Oh Kimmy! Pavlova! It has to be my all time favourite I think! P.S. So nice to see you the other day - you're looking very well! XO

Interestingly enough, you (as in the USA) have Peach Melba Day (Jan 13) - a desert named after an Australian soprano and created by a French chef in a UK (London) hotel.

Let's just say that Peach Melba Day is one of the lesser known named days here in the USA. Having lived here my entire life, I have rarely heard of peach melba, and never heard of the day named after it. That said, if one digs deep enough, I would guess that almost every day of the year has some special designation somewhere in the country.
