quicko: a dill

Some debate as to if this derogatory term comes from dill pickles ("Is that what a dill is for you?  A pickle?"  "Well, uh, I don't like pickles, but yes.  We have dill and sweet pickles."  "Oh, okay, yeah, dill pickles then.") or not, but it's a word for a guy (pretty sure it's male only, if only for the pickle problem) who's a just a jerk or a bit of a (another Aussie slur) tool.  See also tosser.

Dill is a lot less harsh that jerk or tool. Those ones can't really be used in a jokey loving way, whereas dill often is. It's not male specific either. I might call my daughter a dill, in a loving 'you little scalliwag' kinda way. I'd never call my daughter a jerk.

Oooh, good call. It's very hard knowing how accurate/truthful/thorough friends are being when "helpfully" giving you blog ideas. I see my friend's a bit of a dill ...

Right??

Dill is closer to dimwit. It's used when someone has done something foolish, as in, "Oh, you dill" and has nothing to do with pickles, as far as I know.
