quicko: lack of girl scout cookies
It's really distressing. They just don't exist here. Thank goodness people love Pamela and send her care packages: I got a whole box of Samoas, which I do not regret to say I did not share at all, except in two cases of very grave blackmail.

Oh shut up. Yes they do. They're called Girl Guide Biscuits. There is no such word in Australian English unless it is immediately followed by /monster/ and even that is a borrowing.
We don't have boy scouts and girl scouts. We have scouts (which have been co-ed for a long time now) and girl guides (which are still all girls and stupid to go with it).
I have no idea where the closest guide hall to Kirribilli is, but it shouldn't be too hard to find.
That's why you must come home to America, where Girl Scout cookies do exist on an annual basis. We have a box of them waiting for you in the freezer.
Hmmm, Garry, I beg to differ, unless you can give me a box of Samoas, as are waiting in my freezer ... (thanks, Mom!!)
