quicko: entitled or not ...
So I have a British friend and I'm going to blame this one on him -- he says that Australians have a tremendous sense of entitlement. What do you think?

Sadly, courtesy of the largesse of successive federal governments, many do expect the government to do / pay for most things. And many are not prepared to help themselves e.g. instead of complaining about the rising cost of energy / blaming the government, doing something simple like using a clothes line, not a dryer and open a window / put on a jumper, not rely on air-conditioning.
Personally, I think that Americans have a tremendous sense of entitlement. Just my two cents.
