quicko: woolworth's and coles
The two grocery stores in Australia. There's IGA and I imagine a couple other off-beat ones, but these are the major ones that everybody goes to, tra-la.

Interesting. Woolworth's to me connotes a cheap five and dime store with hardwood floors and that smells of old bubblegum. In my experience, it has never been a grocery store. Even if it did sell food, it is not the kind one would eat for one's main sustenance.
Of course, Kohl's, though much classier than the old American Woolworth's, also is not a grocery store, despite the same sounding name as Coles.
