quicko: racoons

As far as I know, there aren't racoons in Australian.  I certainly haven't seen one.

Having just spent the past two months trying to eradicate a family of them from our attic, maybe you're not missing too much leaving them behind, no matter how cute they look.

Attic, hey? Seems like they're the American equivalent of our possums. Although our possums are less likely to raid our rubbish bins - they aren't really strong enough to do it.

If there are any raccoons in Aus, they'll be in a zoo (I hope - we have enough feral animals as is).

We also have possums in America. Much slower moving and less cute than raccoons; more likely to be seen as roadkill, too, but just as prevalent when alive, and found in the same basic locales as raccoons. Both are nocturnal.
