quicko: christmas cards
Australians aren't really big on Christmas cards, and hardly any do Christmas letters. Americans, on the other hand, do them both with a vengeance -- possibly late, but generally quite enthusiastically.

Could be a general thing here - we don't do Christmas cards but have received a mad stack of them. If I can find the time for it, I may do up a year in review letter, which I'll generally e-mail to as many as possible to reduce paper waste.
