quicko: have you got the plot?

Lost the plot.  Such a fad phrase these days.  I'm not saying I'm opposed to it -- it's really quite descriptive, and literary-minded to boot.  But gosh everyone is saying it.  How many plots were there and how have so very many of them run amok?  Didn't somebody work out there were only seven major plots?  I have sneaking suspicion they've all made off into the night, because none of my friends have any left whatsoever.
