quicko: parcheesi
Australians don't seem to know -- or even know of -- Parcheesi. When the American photographer (not me!) made a joke about "say Parcheesi" instead of "say cheese" nobody else got it (though they all pretended to. I saw through them and discovered the truth.).

Interesting. I don't think that is a particularly American game; I would have guessed maybe Indian. I wonder if they saw the gameboard, they would recognize it by a different name?

I think that when we were young we had a book of board games including parcheesi, but I am pretty sure that it was from the U.S as there was a baseball boardgame in there as well. I don't think that I have come across it anywhere else.
