As you may or may not know, Garry and I are engaged and, as he lives in Darwin, I'm soon to be moving from the Lower North Shore of Sydney to the Northern Territory. It's a pretty big change and I'm pretty petrified, but I'm hoping it'll at least be the kick this blog needs to rejuvenate a bit, what with the change of scenery and life turned upside down and backwards and all.
It's three weeks until I move, but I'm hoping that once I do I'll come across lots of things I love about Darwin that I can share with you. For a sneak peek, here are some pictures I took at Nightcliff when I was up there this weekend.

photos: canberra
So, I decided it was about time I go visit Australia's capital -- Canberra. Everyone's always told me I needn't bother going and, really, it's only because I've been here for six years that I thought I ought to go while I still was near at hand. It was -- much as expected. The highlight was probably that Kiril let me drive his car into it (!!) ... and Parliament House wasn't bad either. We just took a day trip, so we saw Parliament House (and took the tour), most of the embassies and the War Memorial. Highlights below!
