quicko: can i get a lift?

"Lift" for "ride" in Australian English ... surely I've mentioned this before?  But in case I haven't, now you know for sure.  As in, "I'm cold and it's raining.  Could I please let get a lift?"

Author's note:  This is more effective in winter.
